The ravings of an intermittent insomniac.
I’ve decided to give this blog thing a go again & I don’t know why, but I thought going back through some of my late night post of the last year on Facebook might be a good way to start seeing as sleep hasn’t been my friend lately. I really need to give Trev my phone when I go to bed. haha Have a read & a bit of a giggle as I did. lol
SLEEP!!!! Stop hiding! Are you a man or a mouse? *squeak* Who said that?
Almost 6.30am & not a wink of sleep has been had. I think its hiding behind the wardrobe. I tried to check under the bed but thats not an easy thing to do when its a divan (box) base. Nearly fell out on top of me head. Haha I think I’m just going to have to go get some cheese to coax it out of hiding. Then batter it over the head with a mallet for going behind the wardrobe in the fist place. ‘Here sleepy, sleepy, sleepy. I promise it won’t hurt….. Much!’ ;oP
Ah insomnia, I see you have returned once again to stick your wretched pins in the backs of my eyes. Why do you feel the need to torture me so? Remove your horrid self from my bed & let me rest soundly I beg of thee.
Ok, its stupid o’clock I should be sleeping. Night.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Agh a snake! Oh, is ok, its just my foot. Panic averted.
ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
So sleep, its back to this old game again? You & I sitting staring at each other over the duvet cover. Each of us willing the other to make the first move. Well this game has got to end & its going to end with one of us getting hurt & I promise you its not going to be me. *lifts a very large wooden mallet over her head & stands in a stance any Viking would be proud of* Go ahead punk, make my night!
Sleep, you’re like the bold child who gets up & runs off to hide as its mother tries to change its nappy. I can see your wrigley, wrinkly little arse running down the corridor & I know you’re going to hide under the kitchen table, so why not come out here & get it over with? I need sleep!!!
Sleep & pain do not good bed-fellows make. I’m bored of reading & theres no one on here. I guess its back to counting sheep. But that never works for me because the little feckers are too bouncy. I never know what ones I’ve counted. I guess I could dye them different colours. Ok,I’m off to dye some sheep!
Sleep? Sleep? Come out, come out where ever you are. We can do this the hard way or the easy way. & put it this way the hard way involves a large rubber mallet. Its up to you.
Sleep, sleep, where for arth thou…cow if you don’t stop mooing I’m gonna have some very fresh T-bones for dinner tomorrow! Mmmmm… Mushrooms.
Why, even though I’m shattered is sleep being so elusive? I am here studying the back of my eyelids, but nothing is happening! I need sleep. I’d give St. Anthony a tenner for just 5 minutes at this point. ;oP
Sleep,oh sleep, where for arth thou sleep because I know you’re not in my bed you annoying fecker! So tired! Anyone got a mallet? Timmy where are you when I need you???

I’m writing to let you know your not the only one out there not able to sleep. I’ve been a day sleeper for about 3 years now. It was difficult at first, but I finally got use to it. I changed things in my life to adjust to it, and it’s working out. I asked my doctor what was wrong with me. He said that some people just get their clocks backwards, and just can’t help it. Have you thought about maybe trying that? What I mean is to change how you work or eat your meals and whatever else that might need adjusting. You maybe like me and just have to live that way. Unless you don’t want to have the nights to yourself. I find I’m more at piece at night, I don’t have to deal with the usual things that people do in the day. I’d like to talk to you some more if you like. Please let me know.

hmeow29 Thank you so much for your comment. I think I am what they call a ‘Night Owl’, my mother & grandmother were the same. The problem is I’m also the mother of a very active 13 year old who has to be chauffeured here, there & everywhere. haha I am also involved in Galway Community Circus which takes up some of my days so catching up on my sleep during the say isn’t always possible. I normally just go for as long as I can & then take a few hours while Nic is at school to just crash out.
I know what you mean about having time to yourself at night, which is nice, but most of the times I just lay there in bed looking at the ceiling. & that’s even after taking sleeping tablets. It does make for some fun Facebook posts though. lol
